MUSIC
MINISTRIES are critical to the spiritual growth of
participants at Ankeny Presbyterian Church.
Musicians of all skill levels from novice to professional are
encouraged to share their God-given talents.
Membership in any music ministry is open to anyone who has a
heart for the Lord, an interest in singing or playing an instrument, and
a desire to support fellow members through prayer and fellowship.
The
Adult Choir is an integral
part of weekly traditional worship services during the school calendar
year. The choir provides
leadership during hymns and an anthem each week, and participates in
special worship services such as baptisms, confirmation, communion, and
others during Advent and Lent seasons.
Christmas and Easter cantatas are an important way for
individuals involved to show leadership as we celebrate Christ’s birth
and resurrection. Rehearsals
are held on Wednesday evenings from 6: 30 – 7:30 p.m.
The Bell Choir
is a new process-oriented ministry that focuses more on fellowship of
the Christian gathering than performance.
APC Bell Choir is a wonderful way for both musicians and
non-musicians to become involved and work with others in praising God.
There are opportunities for performances at both traditional and
contemporary worship. High
school and adults are welcome to participate.
Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
The
Praise Team is a small group
that provides leadership for contemporary worship each week and for
special seasonal worship services. Guitarists,
keyboardists, vocalists, percussionists, and sound/computer technicians
are encouraged to share their gifts in playing and singing praise.
Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 – 8:30
p.m.
Solo
and Small Ensemble opportunities are available at any time during
the year to anyone willing to share their gifts at traditional or
contemporary worship by singing or playing an instrument of choice.
