Senior
High
Our
Mission Statement
Our
Senior High Youth meet on Sunday evenings from 6-8 p.m. We gather
together to share in Christian fellowship, Bible study and service
projects. Our purpose is to grow in appreciation for each other and to
grow in our relationship with God. Service projects are an important
part of this growth. We try to offer several projects each year and each
summer we do a weeklong Mission Trip. Our youth have been to New York
City, Texas, Kentucky, & Chicago. Additional opportunities for youth
are our Presbytery-wide Retreats offered two times a year, an annual ski
trip to Minnesota, lock-ins, leading worship twice a year, and many
other things.
SENIOR
HIGH YOUTH
2008 SCHEDULE
Wow,
it has been awhile since I last checked in and much has happened with
youth ministry during that time!
Most recently, I had the privilege of traveling with Doug
Kohlsdorf to many an open house for our awesome seniors!
I always enjoy seeing baby pictures and mementos, and continue to
be impressed by the faith and attitude of our seniors (and all our
youth, for that matter!).
The seniors lead with their spirit, and I know that God will be
glorified as they continue their journey with Him.
Congratulations, seniors!!
Both
junior and senior high-ers rolled up their sleeves and tackled some
spring cleaning projects around the church during youth group time in
April and May.
They did efficient and thorough work as they cleaned all around
APC; thank you, youth!
Senior
High small groups wrapped up at the beginning of May, and I consider
myself blessed to have visited each group since my start as interim
youth director.
Thank you Brandon, Sarah, Duane, Kelly, Tom, Lee Anne, Mary, and
Joe for your leadership and example; the youth look up to you and have
built strong relationships in their small groups diving into the Word.
While I am thanking people, I cannot forget the awesome leaders
of Junior High who have been working tirelessly for the Junior High
mission trip coming up in June.
Scott Hamilton did an outstanding job putting together a mission
trip website.
Check it out at www.t182.org.
The other leaders have been putting in lots of time as well
getting ready; I know that the youth will have an amazing God-driven
experience with these wonderful leaders of Christ.
The
congregation, the youth volunteers, our church leaders, and the youth
themselves continue to affirm and support both this ministry and me.
I leave you with a verse that sums up the feelings of my heart:
“This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of
God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to
God…Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” – II Cor. 9:12,
15.
